StrawnyGawn Words & Music is the creative partnership of Matthew Strachan and Bernie Gaughan. Matthew Strachan has composed award winning music for television, theatre, radio, film and commercial release. Bernie's work encompasses novels, radio plays and numerous short stories.

Their first stage musical, Next Door's Baby premiered at London’s Orange Tree Theatre in Spring 2008. They are now working on their second show. Bernie's fourth book, Little White Lies, was released in 2008 by Hodder and Stoughton, under her pen name of Bernadette Strachan.

They have one daughter, Niamh.
