Matthew Strachan was born in London and educated at Dartington College of Arts and Goldsmith’s College, University of London. After ten years of composing music for television he spent two years writing songs in Nashville before writing

music and lyrics for the stage musical Next Door’s Baby which premiered in London in 2008. Matthew’s best known music is the soundtrack to the TV show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? which has accompanied the game the world over and has earned him several industry awards. He is currently working on a new stage musical with his wife Bernie Gaughan.
